TKAM - Chapters 10-13

1- Atticus said that Mrs Dubose had real courage. Courage, he says is, "...when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what." What is your opinion of his definition? What is your definition of courage?

2- Atticus tells Scout, "It's not time to worry." Explain what foreshadowing is to someone who is not familiar with the term, and explain what this comment probably foreshadows.

that is not necesary to worry about the problem that was happening in that moment, the road tht the problem was gonna take wasnt visible yet.

I completely agree with the definition of Atticus. As usually happens, young children think that courage is a man with a gun on his hands, but instead, their father showed them the real meaning with the example of Mrs Dubose. Thsi old lady was really a extremely brave woman and a model to follow. She showed that everybody needs to be brave at any time of life and she proved it is possible.

Yes, you're right...but you have two questions to answer!!! Manu, why 'thank you'? I want to know about the other aspects...You can write more than TWO sentences, right!?!!

I think that is the definition for porfiado.
Courage is when you live it all por una causa

there will come times where they (as a familiy) have to be unit and to be strong.
because us the dicho says " si entre ellos se pelean se los deboran los de afuera"

i think that the definition of courage is perfect, i totally agree with atticus. he´s a great and very wise(sabio) man =)

and regarding the other question i believe that some hard moments will come because of tom robinson´s trial. the whole family should stay close and suport each other because that´s the only way to manage the difficultis in a better way.

-I really like the definiton Atticus told the kids. I liked it so much that I told it to my dad becuase he wanted me to see a picture a dying bull. As i am very squeamish i didn´t wanted to look, so he told me: BE BRAVE!. That was the point when I told him atticus definition of courage. And I agree with it, becuase I think the most difficult thing is to fight agains yourself and not to give up.
- Foreshadowing is when in a book, a phrase, situation, etc. indicates or suggest that something is going to happen, usually something unpleasant.
That comment suggest that the worst about Tom Robinsons triall is going to come and that it isnt time tto worry yet, the ^nigger-lovers" problems will still be worse.

I think that a Aticcus refers that you don`t need to be courage, just for carryng a gun on your hands
