TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

Chapters 1-2:

- In 1934, in Maycomb, Alabama, things seemed to move quite slowly. As you read the description of Maycomb, how do you think you'd feel about living and growing up in that town at that time?

- What is your opinion of the scene in which Scout is trying to tell her teacher something, but the teacher won't listen to her? Has anything like this ever happened to you? Explain.

Venado is quite slow, but not as slow as maycom seems to be. I wouldn´t like it at all, its really boring and closed, you dont see the reality.
About the second point, it never ocurred to me now, but when i was younger once I said that people in USA saw us as indians becuase i had heard that in my house, and when I told my teacher about that she couldn´t beleive I was saying that, and I couldn´t understand why, now I do, jaja

I think that it would be very boring growing up in a town like maycomb. Also as it is small, all the people all the people knew each other so they used to spend their day always with the same people . Another point is that they don`t have money because of the economical o financial crisis and there was nowhere to go or nothing to see. I don`t think i can live in a town like maycomb.
For the other point it would be a bad experience for the student because in my opinion she must say what she think in an appropiate way.Maybe the teacher know that it is not true what he/she is saying o she does not pay attention to her.

I'm glad to read you all, but to read Esteban is the best it could have happened to me today!!I remember one anecdote I had in my first grade with my teacher. I'm going to share it with you later but I can tell you that I still dislike her deeply!!!!

i think that living in a not so hectic and acelerated place is wonderful, like Venado. But a place like maycomb, so quiet, slow and with practically nothing to do it wouldn´t be so interested. Eventhough if we are with our brothers and friends we can have fun anyway =)
regarding the other point up to now i´ve never lived a silmilar situation, i touch wood! xD

well, actually i think nowadays is quite difficult to find such a slow town as Maycomb (according to its description) due to the fact that there are a lot of crimes nowadays and we are constactly depending on our surrandings
as regards the teacher thing, yes, it hapopens a lot to me. teacher are used tos right always and the dont recognise their mistake (not you gaby, thanks god)
