We've finished To Kill a Mockingbird!
We've finished reading TKAM and we've also seen the movie. Mention at least three differences between the book and the movie. Which one do you prefer? Why?
I really enjoy reading the book and watching the film, but i prefer much more the book than the film. It´s more free and we can use our imagination, and more things appear in the book. There are some differences between them, for example in the the film it doesn´t appeare when miss moudie´s house burn. An other difference is that the film doesnt show when they kill Tom Robinson or that uncle Alexandra doesn´t appear in the film.Last but not least, they doný show when Jem reads to Mrs.Dobouse
i prefer the book because there Harper Lee described same situations in a fantastic way, the movie was only good, in my opinion the director could have done a better job. The book is a great success.
In the first place, Aunt Alexandra doesn´t appear in the whole movie. At the beggining of the book Scout´s classes are really important for the story, but in the movie, they don´t show her teachear or school. Another important point in the book is Mrs. Dubose problem, whereas in the film she isn´t even namend.
I liked the book better by far, not only in this case, always. I think books leaves a lot to your imagination and wishies towards the charactes, and thats a fantastic contribution to your mind. In this special case, also, the film wasn´t really good for me, and the characters weren´t as i had expected.
the book give too many details while the film doesn't. For example, aunt alexandra doesn't appear in the film. In the book Calpurnia takes the children to her church and in the film no. In the book while jem look for his pants , scout waits in her bed and in the film she waits at the back of the house.
I like both, the film and the book, but i preffer the book, it allways has better details and descriptions, and reading the book you create your own film inside your head. The first differences i noticed, is that aunt alexandra doesnt appear in the film, and the film doesnt show when they kill Tom Robinson.

there are few differences between the book and the film. first, aunt alexandra never appear at the film while during the book she is a very important character. Other thing is that in the book they don´t show when Boo put the things in the hole of the tree. And finally in the film they don´t pass when Cecil scare Scout when she is going to the peagen. 幸運的朋友
one diference was that aunt alexandra didn`t appeared in the movie. Another difference is that boo`s father was keepinghim in the house, not his brother. the last difference i`d like to mention is that, when jem goes back to rescue his pants, in the book scout was lying in her bed, contrary with the book, she was outside behind a wall, waiting for him. I liked reading the book, because it gives you more details so you can use your imagination and think the place and the people another way. violet
First of all, in the film Aunt Alexandra doesn´t appear while in the book she has a really important character educating the children. Next, in the book we can read all the moments in which Boo put the things in the tree and in the film the kids find that gifts all together directly. The third difference between the book an the film could be that in the second never appear when jem goes to mrs. Dubouse house to read her a book.
I prefer the book than the film. Because you can feel and recognize the values that this fantastic story have. For example the real mean of courage, the evil, the hipcresy in the old people, etc.

ESCUELA DE LOS PADRES - 4TH Year Literature 2008
Welcome to our blog! Here we will keep in touch during the whole school year and share our activities.
Instructions: For each reading assignment I would like you to post something to this blog about the reading. Among the things you may want to comment on are:
1- Things that have happened in the story at this point and their significance to the overall story.
2- Characters (their actions, motivations, what they say, how they affect other characters, etc.)
3- Quotes from the reading, especially if they are significant in developing the many themes in the novel.
4- Questions that you have about what you've read (including things you don't understand)
Make sure that you put your name at the beginning of each entry you make so that we know who you are as we read the blog.I hope to make this blog a major part of our class discussion over the daily reading, but how effective that is depends entirely on what you contribute. Remember, you need to post something for each reading assignment, and it must be posted before you come to class. I will leave the length up to you, but what you write should be long enough to meaningfully contribute to our discussion. I will discuss with you a fair way to give credit for these blog postings.
